Sticker Stories is research probe to explore how to create engagement around physical locations and try to create meaningful conversations about place. We used QR code stickers placed around a location along with clear messaging to prompt people to reflect on the physical space. When the QR code is scanned, it brings up a page specific to that location along with the conversation thats going on. Under the conversation, you can then add your own contribution.

A design goal was to lower the barrier to entry as much as possible. For this we opted for an anonymous approach so you don't need to sign up or manage passwords that would slow you down or drop off. To get around the safety concerns the content is moderated by the people running the event.

We also experimented with using ChatGPT to flag posts for additional moderation or automatically block posts. We haven't deployed this very widely so can't speak to its efficacy.
